A breakthrough in light wave technology; revolutionary acne treatment. Just use for 15 minutes a day - in the privacy of your own home - and see results in just 4 weeks.

Only daily 15 minute sessions.

Visible results within only 4 weeks

Total results in 12 weeks.

Natural alternative to costly Antibiotics.

No side effects.

No harmful UV radiation.

Clears Bacterium (P. acnes)

No expensive creams or washes to buy

It is unfortunate that we live within a culture, which puts such a high value on perceived perfection, whether it is our status or looks, image is fundamental to acceptance. Indeed, anyone who suffers with acne vulgaris or similar may feel the reality of this statement and just how it can impact on their lives.

In the past and indeed, presently, acne has been treated through topical and oral medications. However, more recently people (and GP's) are becoming reticence in using / prescribing oral medications. This is due to potentially severe side effects and the increasingly resistant bacterium (only 40% of bacterium is affected by today's antibiotics). Thus, sufferers are in need of a new, safe and effective alternative acne treatment.

Technical Specs:

Comprises six 15W tubes using patented technology.

In-built 15minute timer.

Lamp life 300 hrs (3 years at 15 minutes a day).

2 year warranty.

Weight 4.5 kg

100Watts - 230-240V 50hz

42cm height x 26cm width x 20cm depth
Clinical studies show that blue light and red light, working at specific wavelengths, act together in clearing mild to moderate acne. The blue light (415nm) has an antibacterial effect whilst the red light (660nm) acts as an effective anti-inflammatory. Together they provide you with a new highly effective natural acne treatment. Acne Vulgaris is the most occuring form of acne and the BeautySkin has proven to be highly effictive in clearing up the skin.
  Patented Acne Treatment

Patent No: WO 00/32272, US 6, 183, 500 B1, EP 0 884 066 A2

Scientifically Proven

For more, visit - http://www.justbuyonline.co.uk/beautyskin-clear-skin-acne-treatment-o-120.html

What is Acne?

This inflammation of the skin is a disorder resulting from the action of hormones on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands), which leads to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called pimples or zits. Acne lesions usually occur on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders.

Although heredity may be a cause of this problem, it is more associated with hormonal levels and how you care for your skin (e.g. rubbing your skin too much will cause it). Chocolate and greasy foods are often blamed, but foods seem to have little effect on the development and course of acne in most people. In addition, dirty skin does not cause acne and neither does stress.

How Is It Treated?

You can buy over the counter medicine (OTC), see your family doctor, or a dermatologist (skin doctor).

Over-the-counter(OTC) Medicines

Benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur are the most common topical OTC medicines used to treat acne. Topical OTC medications are available in many forms, such as gel, lotion, cream, soap, or pad.

Prescription Topical Medicines
Several types of prescription topical medicines include benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin, adapalene, and azelaic acid. Some people develop side effects from using prescription topical medicines including stinging, burning, redness, peeling, scaling, or discoloration of the skin. Avoid these if possible, unless your dermatologist advises otherwise.

Prescription Oral Medicines

Oral antibiotics are thought to help control acne by curbing the growth of bacteria and reducing inflammation. Examples are clindamycin, erythromycin, sulfur, or isotretinoin. Some people experience side effects when taking these antibiotics, such as an increased tendency to sunburn, upset stomach, dizziness or lightheadedness, changes in skin color, and dry skin.

Other treatments

There are lazer treatments for rare serious cases and there are safe and natural herbal medications that work like over the counter medications, but often with less side effects.

There are many options available, including over the counter, or prescription medications and even operations. The safest by far are the over the counter remedies and that is what is reviewed here. Studies have shown these kind of products to be just as effective as other kinds of treatments, like prescription Accutane (isotretinoin), but without the possible serious side effects.

Just like you, thousands of people from all over the world get blackheads, whiteheads and so on, and many have tried everything with little or no results. Practically everyone has to deal with acne from time to time.

Interestingly enough ...

It's not because you eat chocolate.

It's not because you don't wash our face enough.

It's not because the good Lord hates you, because he doesn't.

It's not because you didn't get all "A's" in school, or because of on-the-job stress.

These skin flare ups are caused from imbalances and impurities within the body, and that's why it's best to get a product that works from the inside out.

Antioxidents can help eliminate the free radicals that are dangerous to skin and promote infections. They also fight inflammation to reduce redness and heal damaged skin, naturally!

Products with natural ingredients, like antioxidants (e.g. main ingredient in Acuzine), almost always work and do not require a prescription.

The treatments reviewed here are the best based on scientific research and thousands of positive customer testimonials. The products are well established and have countless happy customers. That's a sure sign of a good product.

But, if you're unsure of whether a product is safe or not, best to check with your Doctor first.

for more info - visit http://www.skin-care-reviews.com/acne-product-reviews.html

Problems with benzoyl peroxide acne treatments

One of the problems with benzoyl peroxide topical acne treatments is that they can be quite irritating, particularly to sensitive skin. Those fans of benzoyl peroxide will thus be pleased to learn that one skin care company that supplies prescription acne and skin care products is releasing a treatment with a delivery system that reduces benzoyl peroxide's irritating effect.

Called NeoBenz Micro, this acne treatment will be available only by prescription, which is one drawback. On the plus side, it should mean that the acne sufferer is given the appropriate strength to their particular needs. It is aimed at helping people with mild to moderate acne, and comes in three strengths. These are 3.5% benzoyl peroxide, 5.5% benzoyl peroxide, and 8.5% benzoyl peroxide.

The difference in this treatment as compared to regular benzoyl peroxide solutions, is that it is a time release product. The method designed by SkinMedica, NeoBenz Micro's developer, uses very small 'sponges', called microsponges. These hold the active ingredient, in this case benzoyl peroxide, to be slowly released throughout the day. It means that though acne is kept in contact with benzoyl peroxide for the whole day, only small amounts of it are released onto the skin. These amounts are enough to be effective but far less irritating.

The side effects that this benzoyl peroxide acne treatment aims at reducing are rashes, skin soreness, and irritation. Aside from the unpleasant feeling these effects create, they unfortunately also reduce the effectiveness of benzoyl peroxide in clearing acne.

NeoBenz Micro is one example of a new trend in the pharmaceutical industry. It aims at taking existing products and developing new ways to package and deliver the active ingredients, thus effectively modernizing many treatments. The emphasis in the past had been more research oriented - finding new and more powerful treatments rather than fine tuning existing ones that were proven to work.

Other examples of this phenomena include converting treatments into sprays, with the effect of increasing absorption and convenience. MedPharm, a research contracting firm, is turning one eczema treatment and two acne treatments into sprays. These are still in the development stage, however.

References:
1. in-pharmatechnologist.com/news/ng.asp?n=65831&m=1IPE215&c=qgtqmovbyiaxdub
2. outsourcing-pharma.com/news/ng.asp?id=64465

Article Source: http://www.SponsorDirectory.com/Free-Content

Derma Cleanse

OUR TAKE: Derma Cleanse is Approved Cures' recommended Best Buy! Four to five months of treatment usually leads to clearing of acne for one year or more after the medicine is stopped. Most other acne controlling medicines are antibacterial agents, which are only effective if the medicine is used daily.
Accutane works by altering DNA transcription. This decreases the size and output of sebaceous glands. It also makes the cells that are sloughed off into the sebaceous glands less sticky, and therefore reducing the ability to form blackheads and whiteheads. It also reduces the bacteria counts in the sebaceous gland and on the skins surface.

The most common dosing regimen involves starting with a low dose, then increasing after several weeks. Treatment length varies but is typically for 16 to 20 weeks. Some individuals notice that their acne worsens before improving after beginning Accutane. The lesions may become redder and more painful, but seldom increase in number. This is normal and lasts only a short while and should not be the cause to stop treatment with Accutane.

When the treatment is ended the beneficial effects of Accutane do not end. An improvement of scarring and further reduction of acne lesions is seen for months after treatment is ended. Another beneficial affect of Accutane is that after a course of the drug, the skin usually responds better to conventional acne therapy.

Most important fact about this drug: Because Accutane can cause severe birth defects, including mental retardation and physical malformations; a woman must not become pregnant while taking it. If you accidentally become pregnant while on Accutane, you should immediately consult your doctor.

More common side effects may include: Conjunctivitis (pinkeye), dry or fragile skin, dry or cracked lips, dry mouth, dry nose, itching, joint pains and nosebleeds.

Less common side effects may include: Bowel inflammation and pain, chest pain, decreased night vision, decreased tolerance to contact lenses, delay in wound healing, depression, fatigue, headache, nausea, peeling palms or soles, rash, skin infections, stomach and intestinal discomfort, sunburn-sensitive skin, thinning hair, urinary discomfort, vision problems and vomiting.
Our Thoughts on Accutane at Approved Cures
Although Accutane may offer the necessary power to provide positive results, it also has a great many negative effects that may or may not be present. This medication is not to be taken lightly and you should have the recommendation from a doctor that knows your past medical history before you begin to take this medication.

Elastin Firming Creme

Treatment for rejuvenating the skin and tightening pores to obtain a healthier appearance. The best way to cope with your acne problem is to educate yourself and it is with this purpose that we will list here the common acne myths.

Myth #1: Popping your pimples is a way to get rid of them.

Fact: Avoid do that at all cost. Some people might tell you that popping your zits will make them less noticeable and help them heal faster, but they're wrong. Picking or popping your pimples pushes germs further under your skin, which could cause more redness, pain, and maybe even a nasty infection.

Myth #2: Acne is caused by eating certain fried foods or chocolate.

Fact: This is not true, that candy bar you had last night or that slice of pizza at last week's sleep over isn't responsible for the pimple that showed up on your face today. Scientific studies have shown that diet has little to no effect on acne. This varies depending on the person. While eating healthy and balanced diet is encouraged for our health, there is really no scientific evidence that connects certain foods to acne. Eating a variety of foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products, will make you feel good and keep the rest of your body healthy and strong.

Myth #3: Stress causes acne.

Fact: While over stress may actually produce hormones that can aggravate acne, normal, everyday stress does not really trigger acne. If you're going through an especially stressful period in your life, your skin may produce more oil, but that doesn't mean you'll get more zits.

Myth #4: Getting a tan clears up acne.

Fact: While sun exposure may dry out existing acne, it will not prevent new ones from forming. When you spend time outside and your skin becomes darker, the redness caused by acne may be less noticeable for a little while. But when your tan fades, you'll still see your zits. And spending time in the sun without the proper protection can cause dry, irritated, or burned skin - not to mention it increases your risk of developing wrinkles and skin cancer later in life.

Myth #5: You can get rid of acne by washing your face more.

Fact: Many people believe that acne is caused by poor hygiene, so they tend to over-wash their skin. Washing your face regularly is a good idea because it helps remove dead skin cells, excess oil, and dirt from your skin's surface. But over washing or scrubbing your skin too hard can dry out and irritate your skin, which only makes acne worse. As a general rule, gently wash your face no more than twice a day with a mild soap or cleanser.

Myth #6: To avoid acne, don't wear makeup.

Fact: Young skin looks great without makeup. Heavy and oily make up may contribute to acne build up. However, cosmetics labeled non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic might actually contain benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid that may help to fight acne.

Myth #7: Acne is just a little problem, no need to care much about.

Fact: It is embarrassing to have acne, thus can affect our confidence and esteem. It may even affect our social relation and job performance.

Almost all teenagers and some adults have to deal with acne at some point - but the good news is that with the right facts and the proper acne treatment, you can help your skin. So, the next time somebody tells you one of those things, gracefully correct them and share what you know. Remember, knowledge is power.

For more, visit - http://www.faceyouracne.com/acne-myths.htm

Vitamin A is good for Acne?

Vitamin A is one of the building blocks of the body’s immune system. It plays a key role in the formation of intact epithelial tissues, which are the first barrier to infections, and also in keeping white cells healthy to fight bacteria. Vitamin A is used in the skin turnover process to help generate the new cells that replace the dead ones. The vitamin provides a temporary boost in the production of collagen and can lend the skin a more youthful appearance for a while.
An insufficient supply of Vitamin A can lead to dry skin, also called xerosis. The best sources of Vitamin A are milk, eggs, orange foods, specifically dark orange, such as sweet potatoes and carrots and dark green foods like kale, spinach, and broccoli.

One of the most frequent ways of treating acne is the use of retinoids. Retinoids are substances derived from Vitamin A, which attempt to cure acne by normalizing the lifecycle of follicle cells. The best known external retinoids are Retin-A, Differin, Isotrexin and Tazorac, while the oral retinoids list is headed by the popular's Accutane (isotretinoin) and Roaccutane.

Huge quantities of vitamin A (up to 500,000 IU per day) have been used effectively to treat severe acne cases. But taking vitamin A at those levels can be quite toxic.

Retinoids derived from Vitamin A are not recommended as a usual treatment for acne and should be taken only under the control of a dermatologist.

The biggest drawback of retinoids is the long list of serious side effects, which sometimes makes retinoids look like a disease rather than a cure. For example, Accutane can cause birth defects, premature births, serious mental health problems, hearing and vision problems and many more. So, the bottom line is that retinoids are a good idea if you can cope with the side effects. But, why not use something just as effective, but without the side effects. Acne treatment systems endorsed by herbalist’s and doctor’s, such as ClearPores, are also well-liked because of their success in dealing with the condition, but lack the extreme side effects that makes retinoids a pain to use.

For more, visit - http://www.faceyouracne.com/vitamina-retinoids.htm

Vilantae Pills

Acne treatment pill, contains d-Calcium pantothenate and treat acne by reducing the sebum production. If your acne has gotten worse from using any of these products, it's probably because it's exploiting all of the cysts and clogged pores, which you should be thankful for because its bringing everything to the surface FINALLY. Give it time, acne has a pattern/cycle that needs to be learned, just like the medication being used on it. Here's a perfect example: I NEVER have broken out on my forehead until after I used BP 10% - - then after a few weeks (and still using BP) the forehead breakouts stopped and is now manageable. At first I was skeptical that this stuff was making my skin worse. Then I thought about it. How can anything that helps clean the skin make you worse off after using it? Maybe for awhile its worse than before you started but think about what that medication is doing. It's loosening up weeks and months of dried oil in your pores. It only has one way to go and that is out through the pores, which makes pimples occur. Acne cannot possibly be manageable unless your pores are clean. Think of the post-treatment breakouts as a silver lining, or miracle in disguise. Like any injury or wound, treatment and healing takes time, so be respectful and let nature do it's thing once you begin treatment. the only thing I can think of if it doesnt begin to work after a few weeks (and you must give a product at least 3 weeks to see if it works or not) Then pursue other means, and i know being kids in school you want that nasty acne to go away as quick as possible, but like i said it takes time, and it would be worth it to stick with a regimen and deal with the effects for awhile, it will be worth it in the end. Sorry this was so long but I understand what you and I are going thru. Hope this motivates you a little bit.

1

johnnyduval (0)
                                           11/13/2005

This stuff has been amazing for me but I am sticking to the regime on acne.org - moisturising is essential. Only use the 2.5%, use liberally, use on freshly washed or shaved skin (leave a couple of minutes) so it gets into the pores, and twice a day. I have greasy skin usually but with this stuff you really need to moisturise - I use Neutrogena which is great. If it gets too dry then I skip a day, or one morning or evening. For me this has been a miracle find, just scared that it will stop being as effective although acne.org say it will continue to work for ever.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

nexttigerwoods88 (0)
                                           03/07/2005

This stuff works use 2.5% and buy it at www.acne.org dans regiman bp gell...its the best
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

Burris12345 (0)
                                           12/21/2004

I had very severe acne, i tried panoxyl aquagel 5%. So, when It did start to work everything went away and I had clear skin. :) I was so happy and had a lot of selfesteem but then after a couple months of having clear skin my forhead started to develop bumps again. so, I got some more medication and then the next day when I woke up my forhead looked like it had been burnt! I don't know how it happened but the only acne medication that worked for me I bacame alergic to. :( I then was so desperate that I continued to use it on my forhead and then became ammune again but if it touches any other part of my skin or face then I end up looking like a red cherry. :( So, I am trying to find somthing that will help will my monthly breakouts on my chin area.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

kzkerk (0)
                                           06/22/2004

5% worked the best for me. it did little for the acne, but my skin stayed oil-free for up to 3 hours, 2 1/2 hrs longer than if i use nothing.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

Shaylee (1)
                                           10/14/2003

I used BP at the start, ruined a few pillow cases and it didnt seem to make any noticeable difference. Switched to antibiotics and started with Doxycline - 100% results, became immune to it after 6 months, switched to Minocycline 100% results now becomming immune also (12 months). Used Differin the whole time while on antibiotics and do not believe it made any major difference either. It definately didn't help with the cystic lumps coming back each time I became immune to the antibiotics.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

yaminokage (0)
                                           10/06/2003

BP is indeed the best acne medication out there, yes, I say acne, and not pimple, for BP not only help clear pimples, it certainly helped with acne as well. Of all that I've tried, which includes Adapalene, Clindamycin and so many other formulas such as tea tree oil, BP is still the best. However, BP must be used in certain ways that will ensure that it will not overdry, first being do not use one that contain too high a concentration, while one may think that higher concentration means better results, this may well not be so, for a higher concentration may cause irritation, therefore 2.5%, and if need be, 5% at most be used. Next thing is to keep moisturizing your face, this is absolutely necessary to prevent drying out, and after trying out BP with moisturizer, along with an exfoliant, my acne has begun to clear up. Yes, even though not completely, but of all that I've tried, this is the best.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

stef7654 (0)
                                           07/11/2003

Benzoyl peroxide helps, however, I believe it needs to be used in conjuction with an exfoliant such as salicylic acid. Personally, my skin cannot tolerate using benzoyl peroxide everyday. I like to use Neutrogena Acne Mask 2-3 times per week, which seems to help keep me clear. For everyday use, I use 2% salicylic acid treatment during the day, and Retin-A at night.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

thesound (0)
                                           07/04/2003

I got a few zits so I started using this. Then i kept getting zits and was wondering if I became immune to the minocycline i've been taking because before I didn't need anything besides that to stay zit free. I think this works great if you use it in moderation...like every few days or something (.10 concentration) instead of the twice daily that they reccommend. Because I tried that and it doubled my acne. Like frangela9 i just get more zits on my nose and forehead. Oh well, I miss the good times we used to have; I recommend it for mild breakouts and as spot treatment.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

1

g0odchrl0tt (0)
                                           06/01/2003

Benza-clin is the best product i have ever used, wich is a combination of 2.5% benzoyl preoxide, and a combination of Clindamycin. I reccomend asking your dermatoligest, or even your peditrician (who perscribed it for me) about Benza-Clin, if you have never gotten complete controal of your acne.
0 comment(s) - Reply to this Review - Email to a Friend

0

LisaH (0)
                                           03/28/2003

My chest was constantly breaking out in acne and nothing would help until I found out about Benzoyl Peroxide. It really irritated me at first (I used 5%) and my skin is rarely sensitive to anything, I could barely move my chin it was so dry and was was red and peeling. But after 2 weeks my skin began to tolerate it and with a decent moisturiser in the day my skins now a lot clearer and I can use BP with no problems.Ive had better results with this over time than Ive had on 2 courses of accutane.
For years I experimented with every conceivable over-the-counter and prescription acne treatment, including retin-a, antibiotics, cleocin-t, sulfur, salicylic acid, and several others. Some cleared me up a little bit, but never a very noticeable difference. The one thing that always seemed to work was benzoyl peroxide, the key ingredient in the over-the-counter medications like Oxy or Clearasil. Although benzoyl peroxide worked better than the other medications I had tried, it still did not work well enough. I now know why. I was not being gentle enough with my skin, and I did not use adequate amounts of benzoyl peroxide.

I finally found a routine that cleared me up about ten years ago. I was astonished and elated to find myself free of acne after so many years of experimentation. As it turns out, my current regimen works remarkably well for almost every person who follows it precisely. I encourage anyone with light to moderate acne to try it. If the regimen were an equation it would look something like this:

Gentle Cleansing + Plenty of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide
+ Adequate Moisturization = Acne-Free Skin

Why does the Regimen work so well for so many people?

I have conducted research in many books, medical manuals, and dermatology journals in an attempt to understand why my regimen is so effective. The success of my regimen can be boiled down to the facts that:

Acne begins with a plugged follicle. The trapped bacteria (p. acnes) inside the follicle multiplies. Benzoyl peroxide addresses this situation well. Benzoyl peroxide is a mild drying and peeling agent, thought to keep pores from becoming plugged in the first place. Next comes the most powerful part about benzoyl peroxide. It kills acne bacteria better than any other medication on the market, prescription or otherwise. This is why benzoyl peroxide has been a mainstay of acne treatment since the 1930s. What I found is that you have to use enough of it. If you use plenty of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and stay gentle, you'll be on your way to acne-free skin. It sounds so simple, and really it is. I wish someone had given me this advice years ago. Also, unlike antibiotics, it is impossible for your skin to develop a tolerance to benzoyl peroxide. If it works at first, it will always work.

Irritation of the skin can aggravate acne, and should be avoided. The Regimen is not just about application of generous amounts of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, it is also about how you treat your skin. The exact science of what causes pimples is not known. It is known, however, that irritation can make it worse. As long as you are not picking at your face, scrubbing it with a harsh washcloth, or otherwise irritating it, your skin is primed for benzoyl peroxide. Because an effective acne regimen requires a non-irritated face, if your skin is already irritated from the medication you are currently using, it may be a good idea to give your skin a few days to get back to normal before embarking on this regimen.

If your acne is light to moderate
characterized by
whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules

Go to the next page, where you can view the supplies you will need to do the regimen for yourself.

If your acne is severe
characterized by
cysts and nodules

Hundreds of people have written saying the Regimen worked on their severe acne. One of the best acne treatments is a diet which will help the body eliminate waste so that it won't interfere with your skin and cause acne. If you are unhealthy on the inside it will be reflected in your skin.

It is the livers job to remove hormones from the body. If your liver can't remove hormones fast enough you will end up with too much oil in your skin because hormones are like an instruction manual telling your skin to produce more oil. The function of the liver is also to get rid of toxins. If there is an over-load of toxins in your body, the liver can have problems removing hormones.

So what toxins concern acne sufferes the most? Mycotoxins. These nasty little chemicals are the 'excreted' waste of bacteria such as yeast, and usually found in the intestines. Mycotoxins put a strain on your liver and you already know what happens when your liver doesn't get rid of hormones!

Using diet alone as a natural acne treatment was not as bad as I had thought it would be. There are many foods that help the liver and help remove waste from the body.

What foods are good for cleaning the body? Two of the best foods are apples and psyllium husks. They both contain fibers that act like a broom and absorb and push out all the junk that's stuck in your intestines, sometimes stuff that has even been there for many years! The 'junk' is also the perfect breeding ground for the bacteria that produce mycotoxins.

And what foods are good for helping the liver? Beetroot. Beetroot is known for it's exceptional liver cleansing properties. Another good food, or herb actually, is milk thistle. Scientific studies have suggested that certain chemicals in milk thistle protect the liver from damage caused by viruses, toxins and alcohol.

To cure your acne, you need to correct the problems inside your body that are causing your acne. No over-the-counter creams can do this. They can only kill bacteria on your face and help reduce the redness.

Would you like to learn about a 3 day diet plan that has cured thousands of people around the world of acne?

It's considered one of the best internal cleansing methods and also one of the easiest. It's called: Acne Free in 3 Days.

Click here for more info --> http://www.highly-rated.net/acne/

Simple home acne treatment

You can do several things to improve acne. There are even some things you can as an overnight home pimple remedy.

If you are hoping for fast treatment you could try one of the over-the-counter creams or lotions as an overnight home pimple remedy.

Some people think that an overnight home pimple remedy is to pop the pimples. This is not a good overnight home pimple remedy. It is better to leave them alone.

Another overnight home pimple remedy is to wash with a soap that contains aloe vera. This may not clear up the acne immediately but it can help.

A cleansing diet can be a good way to begin an overnight home pimple remedy plan. Another idea when starting an overnight home pimple remedy program is to make sure the acne is not caused by allergies to foods, cosmetics or other products.

Check with your doctor for an idea for overnight home pimple remedy. Your doctor may refer you to a dermatologist who may also have an overnight home pimple remedy.

Magazines sometimes have the latest thoughts and things to try if you are looking for an overnight home pimple remedy.

Your pharmacist may be helpful if you are searching for an overnight home pimple remedy. She may be able to recommend a product that the pharmacy carries.

You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as an overnight home pimple remedy. Another overnight home pimple remedy consists of cleaning your skin with lemon juice.

One overnight home pimple remedy may work better for you than another. Composed of the same oil, or sebum, that contributes to the production of pimples, blackheads result from a building up of this oil in pores – the difference in appearance is the result of the blackhead’s exposure to the air, the reaction of which with the oil causes the trademark black color of these blemishes. And while blackheads are more easily obscured by makeup, they can seem less offensive to the sufferer, and as a result, less damaging to squeeze. But the bad news is that this is not the best way of removing blackheads – the fun stuff is always bad for us! And while squeezing them might be fun, getting rid of them altogether sounds better. So what is the best way to remove blackheads from our lives? Here are some tips for removing blackheads for good.

So, how to get rid of blackheads? Like pimples, blackheads are the result of an underlying skin problem – the over production of oil by glands contained in our skin, exacerbated by the improper shedding of old skin – and rather than removing blackheads by squeezing, the best way to get rid of them is by attacking the source of the problem. A good cleansing routine is one of the best ways to remove blackheads, as it will help wash away excess oil and dead skin particles. A gentle cleanser is a good choice as it won’t dry out the skin excessively (which results in the production of even more of that nasty sebum!). Combined with the use of a gentle exfoliant, which will help remove old skin cells, this is all you need to help keep your skin blackhead free.

But we all know that blackheads can be persistent, so how to get rid of blackheads that are more stubborn? Aggressive manipulation of the skin is never good, and so tips for removing blackheads include above all else a gentle touch. Before attempting to squeeze a blackhead, open up your pores by steaming your face, and then use a blackhead remover or some clean tissue to remove the blockage. Remember – the best way to remove blackheads is to be gentle! An overly heavy hand will only force the blockage deeper into the skin, causing dreaded zits! Surely squeezing isn’t worth that!

Find out more about Acne as well as the Best Acne Treatments and adult acne, acne skin care products, the best acne treatments and more at Peter’s website, Acne All Gone.

How to remove blackheads ?

What are blackheads?

Blackheads are small “plugs” that develop in the pores of the skin. They are caused when the over active sebaceous (oil producing) glands in the skin become clogged with oil. This sebum then begins to harden in the pore. Since skin pores are open to the air, the top part of the hardened sebum or oil oxidizes, turning black. This black top of the oil plug is then forced closer to the surface of skin by the oil hardening beneath it. This then causes the blackhead to be visible.

It is not clearly understood why the sebaceous glands begin to become overactive. It is often noted that this situation begins at puberty, and may stop at the end of puberty leading to the conclusion that it is hormonally controlled. For some people this is not the case however, and they may continue to experience blackheads and whiteheads well past puberty and into adulthood. Whiteheads are formed the same way as blackheads with the exception that the pore is closed and the oxidation does not occur.

Acne results from infection of the oil gland due to the blockage by the blackhead. Preventing and removing blackheads helps to control acne.

Blackhead Removal

The following are some tips for removing blackheads:

- Keep the skin as clean and oil free as possible. Use natural or chemically prepared cleansers, astringent solutions or masks to accomplish this. Avoid harsh soaps that may irritate the skin or any creams that leave an oily finish.

- Use a gentle exfoliant to keep the dead cells off your skin and away from the pore openings.

- Avoid harsh squeezing or scraping at the blackhead. Excessive squeezing can damage the skin surround the pore and can actually increase the size of the pore leading to more blackheads in the future.

- A warm compress of water applied to the area of the blackhead followed by a very, very gentle pressure can help in clearing the clog from the pore.

- Commercial “blackhead strips” which are basically a tape like substance that is placed over the nose and then pulled off will remove some blackheads that are at the surface. Caution should be used with these products and it is important to read the directions completely before deciding to use the strips or not.
Check out http://www.stopping-acne-now.com for articles about getting rid of pimples and acne scars removal

Here’s how to get rid of pimples quickly and safely

It’s everyone’s worst nightmare. Waking up the day before a special event to discover a big, red pimple baring itself for all to see right on your face!

Here’s how to get rid of it quickly and safely:

1. Don’t ever pinch, squeeze or pick at a pimple. This only causes it to become more red and inflamed, and will spread the bacteria and oils that caused it in the first place, to other parts of your face! It can also lead to scars.

2. Every 30 minutes, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it there for about 2 minutes. This will decrease the swelling and redness and help shrink the inflammation and pain that sometimes comes along with it.

3. They don’t call it concealer for nothing! Covering the pimple with a light dose of flesh-tinted concealer can help mask it when you’re in a hurry. It also helps cover up that oily shine.

4. Cleanse your skin 2-3 times a day with mild, unscented soap or a specialized acne cleanser that has no harsh chemicals (such as lye). Scrub skin gently with an exfoliating pad or washcloth, but don’t rub too hard, otherwise you’ll sap your skin of its own natural oils, which help to repel buildup naturally.

5. Apply a cream or ointment containing benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid (many over-the-counter acne medicines contain these ingredients) to the blemish or around the entire facial area. Note that these ingredients both have a tendency to dry out skin if used too much and are not recommended if you have sensitive skin.

6. Wear oil-free makeup whenever possible. These types have less of a tendency to cause the pore buildup that results in blemishes. Remove your makeup nightly and cleanse with an acne-fighting medicine to remove dirt, oil and makeup from deep within the skin.

7. If you’re in need of a quick fix, a dab of toothpaste on the affected area right before bed can help soothe irritation and reduce redness. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five minutes can also reduce swelling and redness.

If you follow these tips, chances are you’ll notice a significant difference rather quickly – often within a day or two. If pimples become a recurring problem or worsen, your doctor or dermatologist can suggest a daily skin cleansing routine that will suit your skin type. Other long-term remedies, such as facial masks, diet adjustments and increasing the amount of water you drink can also help combat outbreaks.

The information contained in this article is for educational purposes only and is not intended to medically diagnose, treat or cure any disease. Don’t eat junk food? Lower your stress level? Put creams on your pimples? Take tetracycline? Well all of these ideas are great but the one core is to make sure that you keep your skin clean. Washing and keeping your skin to keep it clean is not going to clear up all of your acne but it can go a long way to taking good care of your skin. Here are some things to think about when you are washing your skin.

Wash early and often. It is important to wash your face and if you have acne on your chest and shoulders to keep these clean by washing them first thing in the morning and also at noon, after school, and in the evening before bed. This may seem a little often but you do want to make sure that your skin never has excess oils or that your pores can become clogged.

Wash with very clean soap. It is almost good enough to clean your skin just with water to protect against acne because many soaps can irritate your skin more than they help and your want to care for your skin, not dry it out. My favorites are hibitane for its antibacterial features or just plain, unscented glycerine soap. Remember that even if your skin is really oily it is still a very good idea not to dry it out.

Pat your skin dry. We seem to be taught at some point to rub our skin to dry it but this is very hard on your skin. Instead make sure that you are just patting your skin dry instead of ever rubbing. I have been doing this for many years now and am convinced that my face looks a lot younger than it should because of patting my face and not rubbing it.

Washing your face for acne is one of those important things that you can do to take care of your acne problems. Try following these rules for a few days and be sure to notice if your skin gets too dry. If your skin gets dry or if it is too dry in the first place then you will want to splash water on your face instead of washing your face during the day and just use mild soap for your acne morning and night.

Acne is a very stubborn and embarrassing problem. To learn more about how to prevent or cure your acne problems you should become as educated as possible about acne. Cystic acne always leaves a scar while in some people even mild inflamed acne leaves scars. The scarring depends upon the individual's response to an injury. As we age, these scars become more visible because of loss of collagen in the skin. Let us look at the scar formation in acne.

When acne begins resolving, you first notice a dark spot on the site. Most often it is PIH or Post inflammatory Hyper pigmentation. This fades away in about a year. If it does not resolve during that period, you may have a scar that needs treatment. Acne scars can be either depressed or raised. Raised scars are formed only in those people who form kelloids. Depressed scars are commonly found in everybody else. The depressed scars form because of loss of tissue from the acne site. These depressed scars may look like ice picks, boxcar or rolling. These are the names given to different scars depending upon their look. Such scars do not fade away with time. They need medical intervention to remove. Doctors commonly use surgical and physical procedures such as dermabrasion, chemical peeling, microdermabrasion, surgery, soft tissue filling, laser, etc. to remove the scarring.

The best method is to try and control acne in the initial stages. Once it gets inflamed, it becomes difficult to prevent scarring. If scarring occurs, wait for a year to find out if it was PIH. After that you need to consult your doctor about the procedures that should be followed to get the scar treated. The factors that are considered in deciding about the procedure are- cost, time, pain of treatment, results expected, and your health. After considering these factors, your doctor will decide about the kind of treatment that should be used to remove the scars.

This article is only for informative purposes. However, one thing is sure that it first raises its head when someone is at puberty, which is when young people experience the thrill of sex. Acne presumably is associated with hormonal spikes in the younger generation standing at the threshold of youth. Incidentally, Acne Vulgaris denotes common acne, colloquially called pimples, spots or zits.

Now, basics of the common acne or Acne Vulgaris and how it creates problems that are not only physical but to a great extent, psychological too.

We all have hairs on our body, through which we perspire. But skin-softening oils or sebum that is produced by the glands located in the epidermis also come out through the same pores. Things look fine as long as long as the oil or traces of it can see the light of the day through the pores but all hell breaks loose when the pores get clogged, preventing the release of the oil.

The pores are usually blocked by naturally occurring dead skin cells. Yes, as a matter of fact, new skin cells are generated all the while, replacing the old dead cells in the body and that’s precisely how we are regenerated every minute. Coming back to the clogged pores, a lot of mischief has already been done there. A veritable quagmire has developed in the form of an oil embargo under the skin, providing superb breeding ground for bacteria’s and Malassezia multiplying in the confines and ready to explore the outside world.

Next comes the outbreak. Unable to withstand the epidermal pressure, the skin inflames, producing pus-filled boil-like tender swellings in the shape of lesions. These mostly appear on the face, throat, chest, shoulders, upper arm and sometimes on the back as well. Typical acne lesions comprise pustules, papules, comedones, nodules, etc. as also inflammatory cysts.

These conditions prevail during the puberty or a few years thereafter, seldom manifesting later and is often related to a typical response to standard levels of hormones. Also unanswered remains the question as to why it diminishes as people grow in years. Since acne vulgaris affects a large percentage of humans at some stage in life, it is extremely prevalent.

Apart from the hassle caused by this irritable disorder, acne victims suffer from an inferiority complex, resulting in severe depression and disheartenment that occasionally may even lead to suicide or other method of self-debasement. Studies made by a team of psychoanalysts have recently suggested providing more psychological support to acne sufferers than medical relief. The worst part of the whole story is that it affects people during early adolescence when the need for being socially acceptable reigns supreme in the young heart.

Jen Carter is team member and writes regularily about acne treatment, skin tags and other common conditions for Amoils.com.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jen_Carter

What is the relationship between diet, hygiene and acne ?

Is there a relationship between diet, hygiene and acne? This debate has been going on for many years now and because of the fact that millions across the world are affected by acne, this is a very popular debate. Though there is no scientific proof to show that there is indeed a relationship, but many still continue to believe in the contrary.

One common misconception is that a diet that is rich in potato chips, french fries, sugar and even chocolate can make acne worse. Conversely, a diet that is low in GI does not also cure acne. Both these conditions have been proved to be wrong by scientists and researchers through various studies conducted on thousands of subjects. If anything, a relationship between milk and acne has been found, but about the exact nature of this relationship there is still a lot of doubt.

Another popular misconception is that dirt causes acne or pimples. This means that if someone is exposed to increased dirt, that person is more prone to getting acne. Does this mean that more people who stay in polluted cities suffer from acne compared to others in cleaner places? There is no data to prove this. No, dirt cannot cause acne.

The American Academy of Dermatology as also the Journal of the American Medical Association are of the opinion that no diet can promote acne, and also, there is no food that can prevent a person from getting the pimples. But the guys out there do agree that a healthy diet will help. That is because with the proper diet the natural immunity remains strong, and this itself can be a fighting mechanism to ward off ailments. On the other hand, common nutrients that are absorbed from the foods people eat can aid in acne treatment.

Diet rich in the following are beneficial…

Vitamin A (but mind it – high doses can become toxic), Vitamin B-2 (keeps the body and mind fresh by removing stress and rejuvenating), Vitamin B-3 (apart from lowering cholesterol levels, it also leads to healthy skin), Vitamin E (protects the metabolism of the human body) and Zinc (improves the immunity).

Though no direct relationship has been found between hygiene and diet, but can anyone say anything against staying clean, or hygienic living? But this doesn’t mean that cleaning the face seven times a day using a soap will make the person cleaner and prevent him or her from getting acne. If anything, over washing may cause more harm than good, as soaps may dry up the skin and make it irritable. Use the soap no more than twice daily.

Though it may be itch and be extremely tempting, picking the acne pimples is never a good idea. They can bleed and the bacteria may even go deeper into the skin, worsening the situation. Plus, of course, it can lead to scars.

Jen Carter is team member and writes regularily about acne treatment, skin tag and other common conditions for Amoils.com.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jen_Carter

What are the types of Acne Scars ?

As acne resolves, it leaves a hyperpigmented spot on the skin. This is the result of natural healing process. This hyperpigmentation mark slowly fades away and sometimes it takes up to a year. If after a year also you see a mark, you have an acne scar. Let us discuss about the type of acne scars in detail.

Acne scars are of two types -keloids and depressed scars. Keloids are raised scars. Keloids form in few people and a keloid is a mass of tissues that grows on the site of the injury. Keloids are difficult to treat and look very ugly. Keloids are more commonly found on male torsos. Other type of increased tissue formation scar is called hypertrophic scar. Hypertrophy means overgrowth.

Majority of people form depressed scars. The depressed scars form as a result of loss of tissue at the acne site. The tissue is lost when the acne spreads inside the skin and gets attacked by the white blood cells. Some collagen is lost in this process. The new skin grows over the depression and a depressed scar forms. The depressed scars are classified in to three types- ice pick scars, boxcar scars and rolling scars.

Icepick scars-

Icepick scars are commonly deep scars. They may also be superficial. They look sharp as if the skin has been cut with an icepick. These scars are difficult to treat with laser or dermabrasion as they go deeper inside.

Boxcar scars-

These scars do not have sharp edges unlike icepick scars. Boxcar scars are oval or round and commonly they are not very deep.

Rolling scars-

When the scarred skin looks rolled, the scars are known as rolling scars.

This article is only for informative purposes. Why do teenage have acne ?

If you were to ask any teenager what the worst thing that has happened to them is they would tell you that it was acne. Hormones that are brought on by puberty cause teenage acne. Add to this teenagers diet that usually consists of junk food, and the result is acne. A healthy diet will most certainly reduce the chance of an acne outbreak. Physicians are hesitant to treat hormone imbalances in teenagers because most of the time they resolve themselves over time.

Stress is another major factor in teenage acne. It is important that the teenager learn to manage their stress in their teenage years because it will be a skill that they will use for the rest of their life. When a teenager learns to manage their stress, they will reduce certain factors that cause acne.

Many physician and nutritionist recommend changing dietary habits before starting any harsh acne treatments. When either of these professionals are consulted, a special dietary plan can be formed. It is also recommended that this dietary plan be used for one month, and there should be a dramatic difference.

An “Acne Diet Plan” consists of fruits and vegetables, as well as grains and juice. Foods high in protein such as chicken and fish will also be included on this plan. The idea is to change the dietary habits of the person suffering from acne to promote an overall healthy body. One of the nutrients that the body needs to stay healthy is fiber; It aids the body digestive system. Eating fruits and vegetable will give the body all the fiber it needs to stay healthy.

There is a lot of advice and nutritional information regarding acne diets and nutrition. There is abundance of tip and advice from medical and professional groups.

Herbalists recommend adding turmeric and barberry to the diet. These two herbs have medicinal properties that have been used for centuries.

Studies have determined that turmeric is a natural antibiotic that balances intestinal flora and also aids in the digestion. It is a popular herb that is used in many different ethnic recipes and has been found to reduce acne in some teenagers.

Many different studies have determined that barberry is nature’s acne medicine. In Chinese and Japanese cultures, barberry is always used to treats acne.

Physicians who treat using all natural methods believe that acne is cause by over acidity in the body. They believe that eating a piece of watermelon can cure this condition.

The one thing that is agreed upon by all who treat acne problems is that foods cooked in hydrogenated fats will most definitely cause an outbreak of acne. Fried food and margarine are the two foods that should be avoided at all costs. These types of food go straight to the sebaceous glands under the skin and clog them, causing bacteria to form and acne to occur.

It is recommended that if fried food is a must, switching from vegetable oil to olive oil will reduce the chances of an acne outbreak.

By simply changing dietary habits, you can drastically reduce the number of acne outbreak that can plague teenagers throughout their adolescence. It can be devastating to teenagers to have to face their peers with severe acne. It is the parents responsibility to make sure that their children have the proper nutrition. Teenage boys fall victim to acne far more than teenage girls do. This is because at the onset of puberty, testosterone is produced in abundance. Acne is caused by bacteria that clog the pores under the skin causing whiteheads, blackheads and blemishes to form. The bacteria can quickly spread under the skin and cause acne to appear not only on the face of the victim but also on the neck and body. This can be a great source of embarrassment for a teenager, especially when they have to change clothes in physical education classes. There is a lot of advice and even more treatment options on the market today, and some studies have indicated that acne may be hereditary.

Many people who suffer from acne consult a dermatologist. This is a doctor that specializes in diseases of the skin including acne. A dermatologist can recommend over the counter treatments that can be effective in treating acne. It can take what seems like forever to find an acne treatment that is right for you. Although there are many treatments for acne, there is no cure, and a dermatologist may be able to prescribe medication that cannot be sold over the counter. He or she may also be able to offer trial samples of new acne treatment products.

until there is a cure for acne, treatment is available. Studies have indicated that diet has a lot to do with the treatment of acne. Avoiding greasy foods and foods high in fat may reduce the chance of acne causing bacteria from developing. It is recommended that drinking water instead of soda will also reduce the chance of an acne breakout because water flushes bacteria out of the body. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol will also reduce acne breakouts.

Using over the counter treatment products that contain Benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, and salicylic acid has been proven to be effective in treating acne. There are many different creams and lotions that contain these ingredients. When you seek a treatment, you will find hundreds of different products to choose from. Not all of them will work for everyone, you just have to find one that works for you. It is important that you know how to care for your skin including cleaning methods for your skin type.

Herbal remedies for acne are abundant in health and nutrition stores. These products are made with herbs and vitamins that are know to be good for the skin. They usually contain vitamin A, niacin. Products containing zinc are also recommended for promoting health clear skin. Home remedies have included orange peel that has be pureed in water which is applied directly to the affected area, as well as lemon juice. Homeopathic remedies include coriander mixed with turmeric, grated cucumber or crushed garlic applied directly to the acne affect skin. There are so many different cures and home remedies available today, however it is recommended that you seek out the advice of a dermatologist for severe acne. Taking chances with home or herbal remedies can make your acne worse or cause more problems.

However you decide to treat your acne, it is important to remember that when you clean your skin, do not scrub your skin. It will irritate it and make your acne worse.

For more information on acne problems and other conditions, http://www.AcneGurus.Com is the place to go.

This site offers a clearing house of articles on acne cures, treatments and causes and can give those who suffer from these facial conditions solid advice on options available to them.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Idan_Lavi

Acne Scars - All About The Treatments

Acne scars are treated with many physical and surgical procedures. To begin with let us discuss about PIH or Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. This is the dark color that is seen as the acne resolves. These are not true scars and fade away in about an year. To speed up the fading away of this discoloration-

Use a Retinoid or AHA based formula that will increase the turnover of the skin cells by removing the dead cells. Avoid sun exposure and smoking.

For true acne scars that remain on the skin for a longtime and look more prominent as one ages, the following procedures are used.

Dermabrasion:

This is considered one of the most effective treatments for acne scars. In this procedure, the doctor uses a local anesthetic or freezes the skin and then abrades the scar with a high-speed rotary abrader to remove unwanted surface skin. As the skin heals, the new skin grows without any scars. And also looks brighter. This procedure may remove superficial scars totally and reduce deeper scars.

Chemical Peeling:

In this procedure, chemicals are used to peel away the damaged skin. The strength of peel depends upon the depth of the scar. Mild peels are used to treat superficial scars while deep peels are used to remove deeper scars. As the old skin peels away the new skin forms without any old scar.

Laser Therapy:

Lasers are used to give a new shape to the scarred skin by re-contouring the scars. Lasers are very popular as the laser beam removes the scar bloodlessly and the depth of the cut can be precisely controlled.

Soft Tissue Filling:

Collagen, which may be bovine in source or the patients' own, may be injected below the scar to lift the skin and give it a smooth appearance. As the injected collagen gets absorbed in the body over a period, further treatments may be needed after about six months. Similarly fat may be injected below deep scars for giving a skin lift. Similar to collagen filling, fat injections may need to be repeated after some months. Your doctor will advise you about that.

Microdermabrasion:

In this procedure very tiny aluminum oxide crystals are passed through a vacuum tube to scrape the surface of the skin. This procedure may have to be repeated many times. It gives a fresh look to the skin by scraping. Very mild scarring can be treated with microdermabrasion.

Skin Surgery:

Skin may have to be surgically corrected with grafting or other procedures to remove some scars.

This article is only for informative purposes.
